September Week 1

Bare with my boring posts. I'm trying to play catch up and in doing so I'm just getting things on here for my own records.

Wild Rivers! Yeah, now that the season is almost over the kids wanted to go more. :) as I wrote this on the 17th Jerick just asked to go.

We had our first Girl Scout Meeting after a 2-3 year break. The group is unique in that it is all ages a "rainbow" troop. We have Daisies on up and even a Boy Scout Troop made up of brother of the girls. All homeschoolers :) It was so joyfull to see all the mixed aged girls in the same place. This is not the only mixed age, or even homeschool group. Just the closest to us full of families that I love. Julia's assignment that first meeting was to make a collage to share with the group. When she got home she decided that Trekker's kennel needed to have the art work.

We also had our first Junior First Lego League meeting. Both Jerick and Julia did the program 2 years ago. Julia had been asking to participate again when this opportunity came up. It looks like she will be on a team with just similar aged girls. This is after years of only haveing boys in our homeschool groups. It is such a treat for me to see. There is some carry over between the GS Troop and the JFLL group. :) that just means from the mommy stand point I'll get to see some favorite friends more often.

Another field trip with Rainbow Kids (not to be confused with the rainbow Girl Scout troop) this one to Muzeo. How to Make a Monster and animatronics.

This guy was my favorite. You could make him move by the push of a button. I spent way too much time bonding with him :)

They had a neat hands on portion of the exhibit next door. This is simply a plastic form that the kids and adults can spread clay on. It was fun for all ages.

The day was hot and beautiful. A cruise through the street fair and then hours in the park chatting with friends. It was the perfect wrap up to a hectic few days.
